Katie Bates is speaking out amid an "incredibly painful" period in her marriage involving infidelity and a recent pregnancy loss.

Two days after her husband Travis Clark admitted to being unfaithful in their marriage, the *Bringing Up Bates *alum has addressed the affair on social media.

"This is not how I imagined beginning this year or this new season of our lives," Bates wrote in an Instagram post Tuesday. "This has been an incredibly painful time for me and for our family. As many now know, our marriage has been deeply hurt and my trust has been broken. Right now, I am taking life one day at a time and focusing on what matters most: our children, their future, and my own healing."

She continued, "After privately expressing deep regret and sorrow for his actions, Travis told me he felt it was important to publicly take accountability for what he has done, and I support his decision and desire for transparency."

She went on to explain that the couple are working through the issue privately, with joint and personal counseling. She noted, "I am also being supported by legal counsel. This is not a quick or easy process, and it is not one I am taking lightly. Every decision about our future will be made slowly and carefully, with what is best for our family and our children as the highest priority."

While Bates made no definitive statement about the couple’s future, she concluded by writing, “I do believe in God’s power to restore, and my heart’s desire to preserve our marriage."

Clark confessed to his infidelity via Instagram Story on Saturday.

"This is hard to write, but I owe the truth and I owe an apology. I was unfaithful to my wife. I had an affair and repeatedly broke her trust," Clark began. "There is no excuse for what I did. This was my failure and my responsibility alone."

After apologizing for the "pain, humiliation, and betrayal" that his actions have caused Bates, he added, "There is no excuse for what I did. This was my failure and my responsibility alone. I know that words don't begin to express the damage I caused or the depth of the hurt I've brought into her life, but I am truly sorry."

The former reality star then asked fans to extend privacy and grace to his wife during this difficult period in their marriage.

Bates and Clark have been married since December 2021, after meeting two years prior. They welcomed their first child, daughter Hailey James, in February 2023 and their second child, son Harvey Gray, in September 2024.

One day prior to Clark opening up about his affair, the couple revealed that they had suffered a miscarriage while expecting their third child. The emotional Jan. 16 video saw Bates trace their pregnancy journey, from a positive pregnancy test to learning that had lost the baby.

She captioned the post, "I will spend the rest of my life missing you."
