Kris Jenner's mom cause of death confirmed as certificate reveals new details

Kris Jenner's mom, Mary Jo "MJ" Shannon's death certificate has been released confirming how she died earlier this month at the age of 91.
The medical document, obtained by US Weekly, has confirmed that MJ's immediate cause of death was acute cardiopulmonary arrest. MJ also had several other conditions which contributed to her death, including acute respiratory failure and metastatic lung cancer, which she had been battling for multiple months according to the death certificate.
MJ died in hospital in Los Angeles on July 16 and was cremated on July 23. An autopsy was not performed following her death. Kris, 70, confirmed that MJ had passed away on July 16, telling her fans that she died just 10 days short of celebrating her 92nd birthday on Sunday, July 26.

She shared on Instagram at the time, “Today, we said goodbye to my beautiful Mommy MJ,” adding a sad face and a broken heart emoji. Kris continued, “There are no words that could ever capture what she has meant to me or the heartbreak of having to say goodbye.
"My mom was the heart of our family. She taught me everything that truly matters … to love your family fiercely, to be kind, to show up for the people you love, and to never take a single moment together for granted. She taught us that family is everything.”

MJ's death triggered an outpouring of love from her family members who all rushed to pay tribute to her on social media.

Khloe Kardashian posted, “My sweet MJ. Thank you for showing us that life is meant to be celebrated, that laughter is healing, and that love is the greatest legacy we can leave behind,” adding an array of throwback photos to the post she continued, “You lived so fully, so gracefully and so beautifully.”
Kim meanwhile shared screenshots of her “Entire Family Group Chat,” where Kris and MJ were swapping biblical quotes just a few days before her death. Even Kylie Jenner’s boyfriend Timothée Chalamet’s mother Nicole Flender posted about the devastating loss of MJ.

Kim shared a further tribute to MJ over the weekend, to celebrate what would have been her birthday on Sunday. She wrote, "Happy Heavenly 92nd Birthday grandma!”
She continued, “It’s only been a week but wow the amount of things I’ve learned about you this week from going through all of your stuff with mom has been beautiful ! I thought I knew it all! Makes me respect you and love you more if that’s even possible. Today we celebrate you! I miss you like crazy and I love you endlessly my sweet grandma MJ.”
