**Warning: This article contains spoilers for *Daredevil: Born Again*. **
*Daredevil: Born Again* season 2 hasn't finished its run yet on Disney+, but new set photos have revealed the big new additions to season 3, which is currently filming in New York City.
If you don't want to know anything about what's coming, we suggest you turn back now because...
Season 3 will be an all-out Defenders reunion.
Mike Colter and Finn Jones, who played Luke Cage and Danny Rand, respectively, on the original era of live-action Marvel-Netflix shows, were spotted filming new *Daredevil: Born Again* episodes with Krysten Ritter. Ritter is set to first reprise her role of Jessica Jones in the later episodes of the current season.

This will be the first time all four of the OG Defenders of Hell's Kitchen, including Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, will share the screen together since that Netflix era.

Prior to the launch of Disney+, Marvel produced a number of New York-set series for Netflix, including Cox's *Daredevil* and Ritter's *Jessica Jones*.
Colter headlined the two-season Netflix series *Luke Cage* (2016-2018), about an ex-con with superhuman strength and impenetrable skin who protects the streets from criminals. Jones' *Iron Fist* (2017-2018) focused on the martial arts-trained Danny Rand returning to the Concrete Jungle after decades, armed with the mystical powers of the show's titular hero.

Along with Cox and Ritter, they all united for a streaming miniseries event, the *Avengers*-esque *Defenders *(2017). That era of superhero television ended when Marvel Studios decided to produce programming for their own in-house streaming platform, Disney+. But now *Daredevil: Born Again* has turned into a family reunion between all these characters.
Ritter's return as Jessica Jones, the strongwoman P.I., in *Daredevil: Born Again* was announced months ahead of the season 2 premiere. Ms. Jones and Mr. Cage maintained a complicated but heated on-again, off-again relationship on the earlier shows (and in the comics). So her presence seemed to signal she wasn't alone. Colter, after all, first debuted as Luke in Ritter's Marvel series on Netflix before headlining his own.
Colter signaled his return to the role on the March 3 podcast episode for *Inside of You*, saying, "Now it's time."

“I’ve had discussions with Marvel," he said, "and I do think that it’s very, very likely that I will come back at some point, but I don’t know when. But I think I will."

As for Jones, he also voiced his desire to return. "I’m very aware of the critiques of the character and my role in it,” he said at a March 2025 anime convention. He was referring to whitewashing and white savior criticisms of Netflix's *Iron Fist*. “My response to that is like, 'Give me a f---ing chance, man,'" he continues. "I’m here and I’m ready. I want to prove people wrong. So I would love to see that happen."
Five episodes remain of *Daredevil: Born Again* season 2, which will be followed by the streaming special event *The Punisher: One Last Kill*, starring Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle. A season 3 premiere has not been disclosed.
