Scott Wolf is back on TV!
A look at the upcoming episode of Doc, which airs on Tuesday, Jan. 20, on Fox, shows the 57-year-old actor returning as Dr. Richard Miller in his first TV appearance since filing for divorce from his estranged wife, Kelley Wolf, in June. In the preview, a flashback scene sees Richard confront Dr. Amy Larsen (Molly Parker) after she lashed out at Dr. Brian Clarke (Matthew Bennett) for treating her patient without her permission.
“You told Brian he's in the minor leagues in front of how many people?” Richard asks.
“He almost killed my patient,” Amy snaps. “Did he tell you how many people saw that?”
“So that's how it is now?” Richard replies. “Humiliate everyone on your way to the top?”

When Amy quips that Richard’s “feelings can't really still be hurt” from their own recent conflict, he pushes back: “What's happening to you, Amy, ever since Danny died?”
“Is this really who you want to become? Because this is not who you are,” he continues, as she declares, “No? And who am I?”
“You're in pain, and you're acting out on everyone because of it,” Richard says.
The episode, titled “Inquisition,” kicks off Scott’s multi-episode guest arc on the medical drama, which follows Amy as she rebuilds her life after a car crash left her with a traumatic brain injury that wiped her memories from the previous eight years. When she found out about a costly mistake Richard made that killed a patient — which he covered up — Richard was fired as the chief of internal medicine at the end of season 1.
This also comes after Scott made his directorial debut on the series with its Tuesday, Jan. 13 episode.

In October, Scott spoke out about reprising the character in an Instagram post, thanking his fans for their "love and support."
"Hey, everyone! It's Scott Wolf here, and I could not be more excited to share that I will be coming back for season 2 of Doc on Fox," the Party of Five alum said at the time. "I cannot wait for you to see what's coming. It is full of surprises. Thank you all so much for the love and the support, and I'll see you this season on Fox."
The video, which was a joint post by Scott, Sony Pictures TV, Sony Pictures TV International and Drama Club Fox, was captioned, "This is the best news EVER!!! ❤️ Watch #DocOnFOX Tuesdays on #FOX, next day on @hulu."
This marks Wolf's first acting gig amid his complicated divorce proceedings. He first filed for divorce from Kelley on June 9, 2025, after 21 years of marriage and three children together: sons Jackson, 16, and Miller, 13, and daughter Lucy, 11.
Days later, Kelley was placed on an involuntary "5150" psychiatric hold at a Utah hospital due to a friend's concern for her mental health, and Scott filed for his first restraining order against the former Real World star. He dropped the order the following month.
Kelley was then arrested in August in connection with alleged online harassment and doxxing of friends and family members, including a post exposing Scott's personal phone number and communication with her children. She was charged with three misdemeanors: one count of electronic communications harassment and two counts of electronic disclosure of personal identifying information.
Scott was awarded temporary sole custody of their three kids that month, as well as a protective order against Kelley, which stated that she could not have any direct or indirect contact with Scott or the children. Less than a week later, she was charged with another misdemeanor for violating that order.

In late September, it was revealed that Kelley entered a mental health treatment facility in Utah. Sources told PEOPLE at the time that a judge issued a court-ordered minimum 60-day involuntary psychiatric hold after Kelley underwent an interview and mental health examination.
In December, shortly after Scott wished Kelley a happy birthday on his Instagram, a Utah court granted Scott's request to dismiss the amended temporary protective order against Kelley, and any protective orders issued were declared null and void.

Scott marked 2026 with a roundup of photos on Instagram on Thursday, Jan. 1, including sweet snaps with his family and some from working on Doc. The slideshow, however, began with a picture of a literal dumpster fire.
"2025 Recap. Grateful for the hardest year of my life," he wrote in the caption. "The curriculum was brutal for those I love most. There was suffering, learning, growing, loving, laughing, crying. Mostly learning and growing."
He continued, "In other words, life. I think we passed. I love my people more than ever. I love people more than ever. I love my work more than ever. So the hardest year brought the most love. Life indeed. Wishing you all a 2026 full of love. ❤️."
New episodes of Doc premiere Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
